Do I need pre-study materials? |
|
The course uses accelerated learning, that is, the course contents are learnt through unconscious assimilation of the NLP Patterns. We do not require people to use pre-study learning material. We did in the past, however we found that a) people did not use them prior to the course, b) you cannot police people studying before the course c) the difference between those who used the pre-study material and did not was not significant in any way.
People come from different backgrounds, cultures and learning. The ability to assimilate NLP material is based upon a wide range of phenomena. In our opinion the pre-study aids did not significantly contribute to the overall skill development of NLP skills, both in terms of cognitive knowledge and behavioural performance. We find that many people have already read many NLP books prior the courses and those that have not have the ability to choose from a vast array of material with which to continue their cognitive learning post course.
The issue with pre-study material is that it formats a learners mind into expecting a certain type of training and as such they miss the learnings to be gained through an openness to the training as it unfolds. It’s like reading the contents of a menu and saying you know what the food will be like without trying it! Therefore we keep to the traditional way of teaching NLP by not pre-formating people’s minds and expectations about what they will or will not learn on the course, while delivering the material using the latest NLP studies of accelerated learning, unconscious assimilation.
